Hydroponic office plants, anyone can maintain plants

How much and how often should I water the plants?! Well, every plant is different. One plant species wants a lot of water and the other species wants little. And who in the office gave water the last time? And how much? What if you didn’t have to ask yourself these questions anymore?!

Hydroponics

The solution to this is hydroponics. In hydroponics, the roots of the plants are not in soil, but in water. The plants are therefore continuously supplied with water and water only needs to be refilled when the water meter indicates this. You can then provide sufficient water even without green fingers and the plant will always be healthy.

In larger offices, hydroponics (or semi-hydroponics) for plants is almost a must. Otherwise it is very complicated to keep track of who has given how much water and when. A water meter that indicates exactly how much water needs to be replenished is very useful. An additional advantage of plants in hydroponics is that no bugs, such as fungus flies, can arise because there is no soil near the plant.

Semi-hydroponics

In some cases it is useful to use semi-hydroponics. In semi-hydroponics there is a water basin in the bottom layer of the pot or container. Above that is a filter and soil. A water meter also clearly indicates where water should be given in semi-hydroponics. In this way, plants with roots growing in soil can be easily maintained.

Self-watering pots and containers

Does that all sound rather complicated? Hydroponics and semi-hydroponics? If you just want to maintain plants in the office yourself and are looking for a simple solution, you can use a self-watering pot or container. The specially designed pots have a water basin at the bottom and a water meter. You simply place the plant in the soil in the pot and the plant itself chooses how much water is absorbed from the basin. You only have to keep an eye on the water meter and replenish the water basin occasionally. Plant happy, you happy.
